Akita Elpida began operation by acquiring the semiconductor assembling and testing business from Akita Electric Systems Co., Ltd. (a Hitachi Group company) and its subsidiary, Akita Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Although it is only a short time since the start, Akita Elpida is expanding its business firmly based on the technology and know-how that it has been building up.
