Having made various efforts toward promotion and creation of the recycling-oriented society (3R), aiming at becoming a "community-based eco factory" Akita Elpida Memory has recently won the Akita Prefecture Environment Grand Prize.

As part of the activities to enhance the environment protection and to deepen the relationship with the local communities, we visit local schools and nursing homes to offer handcraft workshops for recycling the waste (used plastic packing bands) from our factory so that the local people can have a hands-on experience of the 3R activity and grow their interest and awareness.

We believe this awarding means the Akita people highly evaluate our commitment to becoming "community-based eco factory" through the contribution to the local communities as well as the environment protection, based on the philosophy that any business activities cannot be successful without understanding and corporation of the local communities.
